Chilkat Valley Community Foundation, an Affiliate of The Alaska Community Foundation, is happy to announce our 2018 grantees! This year, CVCF granted $27,685 to 19 local projects in the Chilkat Valley; our largest award total to-date. Our success, and the impact that these grants have on the people and community we love, is a direct result of the generosity of our donors. Thank you!
CVCF’s 2018 grants support the arts, healthy youth activities, early-childhood education, and the Haines Food Bank. This year’s grants include support for a new playground at Klukwan School, a mobile “Gypsy Wagon” puppet stage for Geppetto’s Junkyard productions, maintenance and training support for Haines Avalanche Center’s remote weather stations, and funds to rehab the Haines Little League Field at the fairgrounds. The generosity of our donors to Chilkat Valley Community Foundation provides the source of funding for grants each year. Grant funds are generated from our general and Field of Interest funds, including the CVCF Fund, Environmental Fund, Fitness & Wellness Fund, Memorial Fund, Call Family Fund, and the Kingfisher Consulting Mini Tech Grant.
