Business Partnership Program

In 2023, the Chilkat Valley Community Foundation (CVCF) launched the Business Partnership Program (BPP), an exciting opportunity to collaborate with local businesses and encourage tourism philanthropy.

The program creates fundraising opportunities through participating local businesses’ online booking and Point of Sale (POS) systems so that their clients and customers can add a donation to benefit Chilkat Valley Community Foundation.

The CVCF Advisory Board is excited about tourism, philanthropy and creating partnerships with local businesses. This partnership is to encourage visitors to play a role in the well-being of our community by helping ensure the sustainability of CVCF and a flourishing grants program and training opportunities that can support many local nonprofit projects.

Chris Peterson, owner of Peterson’s Pretzels, is CVCF’s first BPP partner.  We are thrilled that Chris is offering his customers the opportunity to contribute to the community when they use his online ordering system.

A Chilkat Valley Community Foundation Business Partner is a local business that actively collects donations for CVCF. Options for an add-on donation are offered during the customer checkout process. Businesses can also choose to match the collected donations, amplifying their support for CVCF’s mission. These partnerships are at the heart of building a thriving community for everyone and will have a lasting impact on nonprofit services and quality of life in Haines and Klukwan.

To learn more about becoming a CVCF Business Partner, please contact Matthew Craig, a CVCF Advisory Board member; Chip Lende, a CVCF Donor Development Committee member and local business owner; or email Chilkat Valley Community Foundation Program Manager Amanda Hamell at chilkatvalley@alaskacf.org. By joining this program, businesses generate business and visitor support and help Build Community Through Giving.

As Chris says, “It is my pleasure to participate in this program and to be partnering with CVCF. I hope that our combined efforts have enduring results.”

Thank you, Chris, for helping to get this new campaign started!
