2017 Grants Support the Chilkat Valley $24,000 granted to local organizations for projects benefiting youth, the arts, seniors and at-risk residents.

Chilkat Valley Community Foundation, an Affiliate of The Alaska Community Foundation, is happy to announce our 2017 grantees! This year, CVCF granted more than $24,000 to 20 local projects in the Chilkat Valley; our largest award total to-date. Our success, and the impact that these grants have on the people and community we love, is a direct result of the generosity of our donors. Thank you!

CVCF’s 2017 grants support the arts, healthy youth activities, early-childhood education, and the Haines Food Bank.  This year’s grants also include support for improvements to the ANB/ANS Hall, Haines Senior Center, the Chilkat Center, and the American Legion. See the full list here.

KHNS highlighted this year’s Grant Award Event, which welcomed more than 100 community members to the Senior Center and brand new Chilkat Valley Preschool space.  That night, we heard about the positive impact of donors’ generosity through the grants and strategic support of Chilkat Valley Community Foundation. If you have a few minutes to listen to the KHNS News story, we think you’ll find it inspiring!
