Thank you to everyone who has supported CVCF over the years. Your generosity continues to make a difference in the quality of community life in the Chilkat Valley.
Congratulations to the 24 local nonprofits that received grants in 2022! $65,130 was awarded to organizations for projects that ranged from services for youth to operating support for the Haines Senior Center, from a Tlingit Language initiative to avalanche safety courses, and from a “woodsheds on loan” project to certified pet emergency education. There are so many great projects being offered by our wonderful nonprofits and supported by our fantastic donors!

Deciding how to award the available funds wasn’t easy. Twenty-six nonprofits requested more than $104,000, nearly double the amount available for grants. After reading and scoring the applications, ten CVCF Advisory Board members, along with community members Austin Badger, Jessie Morgan (Skweit), and Suzanne Vuillet Smith, spent a long Saturday reviewing, discussing, and prioritizing projects. Seven applicants received full funding, and seventeen received partial funding. We are pleased to know that every dollar awarded helps create opportunities and services for our community.
